Agronomist Juozas Zabielavičius took the girl aged 5-6 from Kaunas ghetto and drived her to his friends, Juozas and Emilija Pajaujis, living in Kaunas, Donelaicio street. The girl, Pesia Lifshitz (now Pepa Sharon), was his childhood friend's daughter. The Pajaujis family protected her during some time. When it became dangerous to keep the girl in this place Juozas Zabielavičius took her repeatedly and transfered her to Virbalis where his wife with children and his parents lived at that time. Pesia's father perished, her mother survived. In 1970 Pesia Lifshitz (Pepa Sharon) with her mother emigrated to Israel.
