Kaunas Ghetto is set on fire. The Gestapo started setting the ghetto houses on fire. People trying to escape the fire were shot. Almost all residential houses and ghetto workshops were burnt down. Hundreds of people died in the fire or were shot and killed. About 1,000 Jews were killed during the liquidation of the ghetto and about 300–400 survived the liquidation.
