Testimony of Onutė Samuolytė-Liutkevičienė:
I, Onutė Samuolytė-Liutkevičienė, was born on 29 October 1923.
After the Germans occupied Lithuania, I started working in Kaunas Vilijampolė orphanage, located on Lopšelio St. 10. I worked in the 3rd section. The children were 2–3 years old. There were 4 groups in the section, I worked in the 2nd group. There were four nannies and one nurse, her surname was Jasaitytė. The chief nurse was Elena Uborevičienė, the chief doctor was Petras Baublys. An old woman Mrs. Kazimierienė would work the night shift. When she had her days-off, nannies would work the night shift.
I used to find children in the morning, right after coming to work. One morning I found 2 sisters – Ruta, 6, and Ariana, 3. They were the daughters of doctor Jedas. Ruta gave me a picture of her, her sister Ariana and their aunt.
