Testimony
We, the undersigned – Česlovas Mora, son of Antanas, Morienė Elena, daughter of Jonas, and Jurgis Kairys, son of Motiejus, residing in Balsiai village, Tryškiai subdistrict, Šiauliai county – hereby testify that on 21 July 1944 Pranas Laucevičius and his wife Viktorija Laucevičienė (Rūta Gurvičiūtė) came hiding to the Balsiai village, Tryškiai subdistrict, and stayed in the house of Česlovas Mora.
When the German army was retreating, German officers came to the farmstead and uncovered that Viktorija Laucevičienė was Jewish and Pranas Laucevičius was a communist. 5 October 1944, more Germans came, surrounded the house, took the fugitives to the trenches and shot them.
