Rescued Jewish Children

Saviours of Jehoshua Shochot, his brother Chaim and mother Reizl Shochot In September 2004 after almost sixty years from the end of the war Jehoshua Shochot, former resident of Telšiai and since 1972 a citizen of Israel, visited his saviours and their descendants who still live in the districts of Telšiai and Plungė. These were exciting meetings followed by the recollections about the life of hiding of the entire Shochot family from the very beginning till the end of the war. During these meetings Jehoshua revised the names of villages and small towns, biographic data of his saviours and when he returned back, he wrote detailed memoirs and addressed the Museum in asking to award all his savours without whose help he – Jehoshua Shochot, his mother Reizl Shochot and brother Chaim, would not have survived – with the Life Saviour’s Cross. With regard to the testimony of Jehoshua Shochot, we introduce the saviours of Jehoshua, his brother Chaim and their mother Reizl Shochot.
