"THE SUNSET IN LITHUANIA"

The 4-th part of the documentary movie "The Sunset in Lithuania" tells about the most bloody period of the Lithuanian history – from June 22 till December 1, 1941, when the most of the Lithuanian Jewish population were tortured and killed. This happened in all parts of Lithuania in front of many witnesses.
The movie speaks more widely about the events and moods in the small towns where this loss changed the living significantly. The most typical examples of the humiliation and extermination the Jews are presented. They contain spontaneous outshoots, the legitimated discrimination of Jews, holding in ghettos, massive killing, the property expropriation. All this is described in the archived documents (official's speeches, orders, diaries, letters, military reports, the press) and told by direct witnesses (observers and victims).

The movie was created in 2001.
Scenario – Jonas Morkus,
Director - Vaidotas Reivytis
