Rescuers of Jews

The Misevicius family – the mother Ona Misevičienė, her sons Jonas, Pranas and Antanas, her daughter Ksavera in the war-time lived in Pakruojis district, Linkuva town, Kapu street, 10. They rescued German, a Jewish man, who was brought to them by their familiar Maizeris. After the war Maizeris for a long time worked as deputy Senior physician of the infectious diseases hospital in Klaipeda. German has stayed at the home of this family during the total war-time. Around 1947 he decided to cross the Soviet union and Poland border illegally in order to reach Poland. His further destiny remained unknown.
