From Dveira Miasnikienė’s testimony dated 30 November 1945:
I, the undersigned Dveira Miasnikienė, hereby confirm that during the German occupation and callous extermination of the Jews, me, my daughter Fruma and my grand-daughter Liuba Gisaitė were hosted by Marija Rusteikaitė in the Vaiguva asylum for children and disabled people. About fifteen more grown-ups and children were hiding with us in the same place.
/.../ Marija Rusteikaitė maintained us free of charge supplying us with food, clothes and healthcare and treated us as she would treat everyone else. /.../
